What is Cosmelan/Dermamelan?
Cosmelan and Dermamelan are advanced, innovative depigmentation treatments designed to target and treat pigmentation concerns on the face and body. Developed in Spain, these highly effective peels are tailored to your skin's specific needs by your clinician. The treatment involves two phases: the first phase is the application of a powerful depigmenting mask, applied in-clinic, which works deeply to address the source of pigmentation.
Depending on your skin type, the mask is left on for 4-6 hours (Dermamelan) or 8-12 hours (Cosmelan). The second phase involves at-home maintenance with a specially formulated solution that is applied twice daily to enhance the results. This non-invasive, safe procedure delivers noticeable, radiant improvements in skin tone and clarity - without the need for lasers.
Preparation for Your Cosmelan or Dermamelan Peel
Both treatments require a minimum of 2 - 4 weeks of pre-treatment preparation to ensure optimal results and protect your skin from further damage. Your clinician will provide personalized guidelines based on your skin type and the treatment plan. Using the prescribed preparation serums is crucial to achieving the best possible outcome.

What Will My Skin Look Like After the Treatment?
Your skin may appear red and feel sunburned immediately after treatment. This can last anywhere from 48-72 hours depending on the treatment depth. Days 3-5 may bring a dry, tight sensation, and noticeable flaking. Darkening in the skin before the peeling process is normal, and mild breakouts can occur due to the treatment’s stimulating effects.
How Often Should I Have This Treatment?
Cosmelan and Dermamelan are highly effective treatments with an 87% success rate. Ideally, they are a one-time treatment. However, if pigmentation persists, a maintenance session can be considered once per year. Your clinician will advise based on your individual needs.
